Celebrating Excellence with BAME Professionals ( Published: 02/12/2024)

Students took part in a speed networking style Q and A session with guest speakers at Old Trafford, as part of our partnership with Manchester United Foundation.

‘Celebrating Excellence’, an event organised in collaboration with Nusole Presents, aims to provide more students from across the Foundation’s partner schools with the opportunity to engage with Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) professionals from a variety of sectors. These included banking, IT, performing arts, armed forces, sports managing, publishing, barbering, music production, content creation, fashion, sport and leisure and catering.

The event aimed to increase student awareness of opportunities in a range of industries, and offer an insight into each guest’s journey into employment/self-employment. It is hoped that the event can act as a catalyst for further independent research into possible career pathways.

Today was fantastic for the students as they got an insight into all the different career options that are available to them. It was nice to see everyone taking part and learning something new, with the view to going on to achieve once they leave school.
