City Inspires Etihad Rewards Tour
Published: 12/07/2021
This year our City Inspires cohort have been working hard on their social plan to help students and the wider community with their mental health. Throughout the year the students have taken part in a number of activities including mental health workshops, Premier League events and workshops with Rebecca Welch (the first female referee to officiate a game in the EFL). As a result, the students were rewarded with a tour of the Etihad Stadium.
The students were taken around the stadium, starting off in the player’s entrance and visiting the changing rooms where some of their heroes’ shirts were hanging ready for a photo opportunity. From here they walked in the footsteps of the Manchester City stars and headed down the tunnel to the cheering crowd (all be it a recording). Our next stop was the media room where the students got to meet the main man himself, Pep Guardiola, only this time it was a video recording, it didn’t stop our students getting that perfect photo with Pep though.
The students and staff had a great day out at the Etihad Stadium and would like to again pass on their thanks to the coaches from City in the Community for providing them with opportunities that will last a life time.
The tour was a fantastic reward for the students’ hard work and commitment this year. The opportunities provided by CITC to our young people will last with them a life time, and from a personal level, it was amazing to see the excitement and the engagement from our young people and the memories that they were making.
