National Careers Week 2020

TEMA are celebrating National Careers Week (2nd – 7th March 2020) with a range of activities to encourage the students to focus on their future career paths.
National Careers Week is a time to celebrate careers in school and encourage all students to focus on their future goals.

Here are some of the activities that will be taking place:
- A group of Year 7 students are visiting Old Trafford football stadium on Monday 2nd March to learn about careers in facilities management as part of the Junior Engineering Engagement Programme they have been taking part in during the last two terms
- 22 Year 10 female students will be attending an Inspiring Women’s conference at the Alliance Manchester Business school on Tuesday, with a focus on careers, confidence building and resilience
- A group of Year 9 students will be taking part in their Gateways programme at the University of Manchester on Wednesday, focusing on higher education opportunities and raising aspirations
- Our 1 million mentors programme continues on Thursday for 12 Year 10 students, meeting with their mentor from the digital and tech industry in relation to their future career aspirations
- We are ending the week with all Year 9 students taking part in a ‘Medical Mavericks’ session on Friday, learning about careers in the health sector through engaging and interactive activities
- All faculties in school will be focusing on Careers in their lessons all week, making use of the Start careers programme and other resources to show the link between their subject and careers
