NHS Young People’s Health Programme ( Published: 17/12/2024)
We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the NHS Young People’s Health Programme (YPHP) Toolkit with our inaugural cohort of Year 7 students. This pioneering group has embraced the programme with enthusiasm and achieved remarkable results.
Throughout the year, students have actively engaged in a variety of activities aligned with the YPHP Toolkit. They have demonstrated compassion through heartfelt letters expressing gratitude to staff, and shown activism by painting vibrant ‘NHS Rocks’ to spread positivity throughout the community. Mindfulness has been a key focus, with students cultivating mindful practices in our school garden and participating in weekly 20 minute mindfulness sessions.
Furthermore, students have expanded their understanding of healthcare by researching diverse NHS roles and acquired valuable first aid skills. They have also prioritised physical activity by incorporating dance into their weekly routine.
We are immensely proud of these young people for their dedication and commitment to improving their health and wellbeing. Their achievements serve as an inspiration for future cohorts.
As the first half term draws to a close, we eagerly anticipate welcoming the next group of Year 7 students to the YPHP Programme. We are confident that they will continue to thrive and benefit from the valuable experiences offered by this impactful initiative.
