Year 7 Spanish trip to Instituto Cervantes ( Published: 11/02/2025)
The Instituto Cervantes is a global organization created by the Spanish government, and one of the most influential institutions dedicated to the promotion of Spanish language and culture.
A group of Year 7 students had an exciting educational experience on their first visit to the institute. On arrival, they were welcomed with a fun and interactive match-up activity, where they had to match present tense verbs with actions in Spanish, testing their new language skills while enjoying a bit of friendly competition. The students enthusiastically worked in groups, helping each other to learn new vocabulary and grammar.
After the activity, they watched Zipi & Zape, a popular Spanish film that brought the language to life. As they followed the adventures of the mischievous brothers, the students picked up new phrases, expressions, and cultural references, all while improving their listening comprehension.
The experience was not only a chance to practice their Spanish, but also to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of Spanish-speaking culture, making it an enjoyable and memorable day for all.
I had so much fun, even if I didn’t know some of the Spanish words.
Tayah and Davina, Year 7 students
