TEMA Attendance Clinic ( Published: 10/01/2025)
This event provided an opportunity for parents/carers to meet with the TEMA Attendance Team, Early Help, and staff from the attendance team at Manchester City Council to review current attendance trends, address any challenges, and explore effective strategies to enhance student attendance and engagement.
Parents/carers and families were informed about school attendance policies, and how they can support their child’s consistent school attendance. The session highlighted available resources to help families overcome any barriers they may face.
The clinic encouraged open conversation, questions, and fostered a sense of community where families can connect with one another. Our next clinic will be held 20th March 2025, at 12pm in Beswick library (next door to the main school reception).
Sarah Rochford, Statutory School Attendance Manager for Manchester City Council, said:
The new government guidelines on school attendance, which came into effect in August 2024, emphasise the importance of a ‘support first’ approach to reducing absence. At Manchester City Council we want every child to have the positive benefits of attending school every day so please get in touch with the school if you need any help on school attendance.
Mrs Bamber, Associate Assistant Head, said:
This was our first attendance clinic and was wonderful to see so many families from our community. It was great to build on the existing positive partnerships we have with Early Help and Manchester City Council.
