The TEMA Offer at Christmas ( Published: 20/12/2024)
On Wednesday 18th December 2024, all students enjoyed an extended lunchtime and delicious Christmas lunch. Students really enjoyed themselves, eating with their friends and teachers. The catering team and supporting staff ensured this was a lovely experience for our school community. It was fantastic to see students supporting each other and our community, particularly those that used their initiative and demonstrated our value of care by helping to get the bistro ready for each year group.
For the activities outside of school this week, on Tuesday 17th December 2024, Year 7 and 8 watched the Aladdin pantomime at the Elizabeth Hall Theatre in Oldham. They loved the costumes, the audience participation and could not believe the flying carpets on stage. Kylie in Year 7 said…
My favourite part was the goblin. He was really scary and I think I screamed the loudest.
Staff at the theatre commented on the wonderful conduct of our students; they consistently demonstrated our values of care and respect throughout the visit.
In addition to this, students in Years 9, 10 and 11 all travelled by tram on Thursday 19th December 2024, visiting Hollywood Bowl, Cineworld in Ashton or Pizza Express with their Progress Groups and Tutors. These are really important experiences for our students, where they develop essential knowledge enabling them to use public transport and gain skills that allow them to navigate potentially new social activities.
We are incredibly proud of our students and the wide-ranging activities and experiences planned and co-ordinated by our dedicated staff.
