Students from TEMA have been working extremely hard to show creativity when writing their own lyrics, in order to produce their first track, which you can listen to below.
These pupils have illustrated their unique talents and hobbies through their participation in our wRAPped in Poetry Club; an extra-curricular club run by our English Department.
Miss Khatun-Ali, Club Coordinator, was delighted by the students’ enthusiasm:
After the first session I was in awe of the talent and enthusiasm shown by our pupils. I particularly love to watch them appreciate each others views, express themselves and develop their friendships through support for one another.
Ranging from Year 9’s to Year 11’s, pupils have been inspired by wider literature and artists ranging from modern day rappers to Steven Kelman, Agard and Zephaniah. Miss Moules, Head of English, said of the club:
It has been a fantastic opportunity for pupils of TEMA to express themselves in different ways. The track has been stuck in my head for weeks.
The club was introduced in order to promote and engage pupils with English Literature and to help stimulate their musical talents.

I am highly appreciative of having the opportunity to be part of such a diverse and cultural group of individuals who are unique, yet we all share a common interest.
Ebou, club member, added:
The club has really motivated me, especially during hard times. This was an opportunity to show the people out there what music can do to inspire you – I’ll never forget this.
