Year 7 Beach Trip ( Published: 16/06/2023)
Our Science/Geography blended field trip saw Year 7 students swap the classroom for the coastline, to help widen learning and exposure to enrichment activities. During the trip, pupils gained a deeper understanding of coastal landscapes, took part in mud dipping (to get to know the organisms that live in these environments), and developed an appreciation for the importance of keeping our world free from pollution. They also enjoyed other popular seaside recreation activities, such as Crazy Golf and Outdoor Survival.
During the trip, Mr Turner, Geography Lead, was interviewed by BBC Radio Lancashire as part of the Nishma Hindocha show, which aired on BBC Sounds on 13/06/2023:
I really enjoyed the beach trip. I went mud dipping and found rag worms, snails and shrimp.
Chizell, Year 7 student
I had a really good day out and enjoyed the Outdoor Survival, where we made fires and toasted marshmallows.
Dillon, Year 7 student
The TEMA Offer
